This Privacy Policy explains how Bonjes ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use JesType, our desktop speech-to-text application, and our website and services.

2. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to deliver and protect the service:

• Email address — collected by Stripe during checkout. Used to deliver your license key and for license recovery.
• Device fingerprint — a locally generated identifier (64-character hex string) sent during license activation. Used to enforce the 3-device limit per license.
• IP address — logged temporarily for rate limiting to prevent abuse of our API endpoints. Not used for tracking or analytics.

3. Data We Don't Collect

JesType is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:

• Audio recordings — all speech recognition happens locally on your device. No audio ever leaves your computer.
• Transcriptions — the text generated from your speech stays entirely on your device.
• Keystrokes or clipboard content — JesType pastes transcriptions into your active application but does not log or transmit this data.
• Usage analytics or telemetry — no tracking, no analytics, no phone-home.

4. How We Use Your Data

• License fulfillment — your email is used to send your license key after purchase and for license recovery.
• Device activation — your device fingerprint is stored to manage your activated devices (up to 3 per license).
• Rate limiting — your IP address is used temporarily to prevent abuse of API endpoints.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe collects and processes your payment information directly; we never see or store your card details.
• Resend — transactional email delivery for license keys and recovery emails.
• Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, and API infrastructure.

6. Data Storage

License data (email, license key, device fingerprints) is stored in Cloudflare D1, a serverless database hosted within the EU.

All application data — settings, transcription history, statistics, and speech models — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal data
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to processing of your data

8. Cookies

The JesType website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded on our website.
