Does it require an internet connection?

No. JesType runs entirely on your device. Your audio is processed locally using the built-in Whisper model. No data ever leaves your computer.

Will it slow down my computer?

Not at all. On Mac, JesType uses Apple Silicon's Neural Engine for fast, efficient transcription. On Windows, it uses your CPU with optimized inference. It typically uses less than 200MB of RAM.

Which apps does it work with?

Every app on your computer. JesType works system-wide — type into Notes, Slack, VS Code, your browser, email, or any text field.

Is my voice data private?

Completely. Audio is processed on-device and immediately discarded after transcription. Nothing is stored, uploaded, or shared. Ever.

What hardware do I need?
